These are perilous times we are living in, it's on the news, in the papers and on the internet, just how dark the times really are and it's only going to get darker. Timothy reveals the risky/dangerous times we live in today;II Timothy 3:1 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, not might come, but shall come. II Timothy 3:13 - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

The warning lights are flashing, the caution signs are glaring and we are experiencing inclement weather conditions that are dramatically impacting our lives. We've been hit with a barrage of various weather patterns that have eroded this country's foundation - businesses have shut down, churches have shut down, families have shut down, schools have shut down, marriages have shut down, children have shut down, friendships have shut down, individuals have shut down, humanity have shut down due to severe weather conditions. Matthew 24:12 - Because iniquity (wickedness) abound, the love of many shall wax cold. An emergency broadcast alert has issued a severe weather warning to the world from the heavens - take cover!

Timothy gives us the national weather forecast, the changes in temperature, climatic conditions and air pressure that's on the radar of the world - II Timothy 3:2-8 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  

 

II Timothy 4:3-4 - For the time will come (perilous times) when they (churches) will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. The result of these perilous times will soon culminate in full-blown apostasy (as the Laodicean Church evolves into the Apostate church).

I Timothy 6:9-10 - But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Isaiah also painted a picture of what the the last days on earth looked like: Isaiah 5:20-23 - Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

I want to comfort you and encourage you to:

• Continue in the things which you have learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them.

• Abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

• Stay under the shelter of God, He is a shelter in the time of storms.

• Draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to you.

• Be vigilant, be watchful and be prayerful.

• Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

• Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.

• Study to thyself approved, don't believe everything you hear, study for yourself.

• Put on the whole armor of God so you can withstand in these evil days.

• Remain faithful to God (personal relationship with Him) under all circumstances (no matter what).

 

The world and everything in it is passing away, and the Lord is soon to come, he will be in the clouds for everyone to see. The question is, will you be ready? Are you prepared for the place He's prepared? Where will you spend eternity?
