Persistent Faith

Jesus' birth was divine and signifies the fulfillment of God's promise to send the Messiah.  The prophet Isaiah foretold a Savior who would be born of a virgin.  Symbolically, Jesus' name implies God's coming to earth in human flesh.  The virgin birth of Jesus is crucial to Christianity.

As the Son of God, he could NOT be tainted by sin.  He was born out of a woman's womb, which made Him fully human and was fathered by the Holy Spirit which made him fully God.  Through the birth of Jesus, God's Word was being manifested in the lives of His people.  The name Jesus is Greek from of the name Joshua, which means "the Lord saves".  God desires to save His people from hopelessness and sin.  Sin is innate in every human being, only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can mankind be redeemed from the devastating consequences of sin.
