Mysteries of the Kingdom of God

Parables are allegories, short stories, illustrations with rich imagery that Jesus taught as a way to provoke people to search for the truth of God. Parables holds divine and profound truths of God. Jesus began to teach the crowds in parables when the religious leaders of the day began to come against Jesus' ministry and the opposition and tension was building. Jesus knew that because of the condition of their hearts, they would not be able to understand his teachings (the parables).

Only those who were close to Jesus (the disciples), he explained the meaning of parables. Those who reject God's message are left in spiritual blindness to wonder the meaning of the parables. He who has ears, let him hear. Unbelief is when you are ever hearing, but never able to come into the knowledge of the truth of God. The natural man does not receive or understand the things of God because they are spiritually discerned. Jesus gave the disciples the gift of spiritual discernment, so the things of the spirit were very clear to them.

For believers today, the Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth (John 16:13), and the truth of God's words should be sweet music to our ears, the Words of eternal life. He that hath an ear, let him hear.
